I recently bought the S24 and now I cannot assign notification sounds to specific apps. I want to differentiate notifications by sound and this phone doesn't seem to allow for this. I did toggle to allow the advanced notification setting for "Manage notification categories for each app" but that didn't fix the problem. When I click on the App and then Notifications, it just allows for sound to be on or Silent. No option to customize the app's ringtone. What happened to this ability?

Soution finally cracked for S24 unique notification sounds for each app
I have figured out how to set unique notification sounds with calendar, messenger and Google message app. Probably works similar with all the other apps.
For calendar app press and hold the calendar app icon until popup box appears. Click on i in circle in the top right corner of pop up box which opens the Calendar app info. Click on Notifications allowed or blocked and turn on if blocked....You will see notification types. Scroll to bottom to Notification Categories and click on that. Click on General Notifications. There you will finally see sounds. Click on that to set your favorite sound. I use Zedge app to download ringtones and notification sounds.
On Facebook messenger again get to app info same way. Press and hold app icon. Then click on i. Click on Notifications, then Notification Categories, then calls, then sound.
Google messaging... from app info, click on Notifications, Notification category, Other notifications, Sound
Alternate way to get to app info is through settings, then apps, then click on individual apps.
I tried the other tips but non of them worked for me. Samsung should have made this setting much easier.
