Hey! My S24 does get hot especially if I am playing Pokemon go for long hours in moderate heat and even worse in heatwaves. Make sure your phone case is not too restrictive and well ventilated and do not place your mobile under direct sunlight!

I live in Scotland lol. No sunlight here. The case is light and open. It's only when I'm on messenger or anything to do with the camera that I've noticed so far

Lol. Got it! Make sure you update your phone, and ensure your phone has enough memory because that also causes the phone to heat up. Try clearing your cache and restart your phone. You can clear your cache by navigating to Settings > Device Care > Optimise now or you can got to each app and clear them individually by going into Storage. If none of these works, please reach out to Samsung customer care. Good luck!

It's a brand new upgrade. Not even a week old. Thinking about sending it back. Thx for replying

That sucks. Is it running hot all the time or while using a certain app? Either way it should not have any such issues while it is brand new. Make sure you download all the updates, restart and see if the problem persists. If it is still an issue, reach out to Samsung Customer care or get it replaced.

No not all the time. I'm going to give it a day or 2 maybe while still in warranty and see if it is just the camera side of things. It's fine with YouTube for instance and I'm never off that. I'll need to check the diagnostics too. Thanks man.

Hello @Broonie11 👋

Is the phone displaying a pop up message advising it is starting to go beyond it's operational limits due to heat ?

If not then the phone is working as it should.

A phone will Warm up if certain resource hungry features are being used i.e gaming , camera or extended usage.

One particular troubleshooting step you could try is >

Feedback can be sent via your Samsung Members App and a Samsung Service Centre can assess your phone if necessary.

If i can be of any further help please don't hesitate to ask  😎

Hi.

You haven't mentioned it. What scenarios it's getting hot?

For me.I noticed if there is poor signal when using camera it heats up the phone as I have location enabled and backup.

So in poor signal areas I have to turn of mobile data and location while using camera specially if shooting 4k video as well.

Also my go to setup for new phones is

Not to restore apps and settings from a backup.

I always install apps fresh as and when I need them and set up my phone as new.

Rest I restore from my backup from Google One.

The above has served me well.

Over the years I have noticed people with the most issues are ones who did smarthswitch transfers and restored everything.

Not all have issues but most do.

I put it down to incompatible apps etc or difference in software numbers.
