Notifications sound issues

My notifications sounds are so low that they're barely even noticeable, I keep missing text messages because of it. I've checked all the sound settings, nothing is muted and everything is on max volume. This is a significant issue for me as I need to be able to hear it when I receive a text message for my job.

Such an expensive flagship phone shouldn't have such issues, this is a bit ridiculous to be honest. I've never had any issues hearing notifications on any other device ever. What on earth is going on with the low sound?

There's no issue with the speakers, they sound great when playing videos and music. Impressive sound quality to be honest. I'll try the Device Care app now, thanks .

Not a solution. Maybe if possible consider a watch . They are quiet handy for message notifications and stuff.

Hopefully they fix the issues.

Will have to see what the Feb update brings in terms of fixes to the table.

That's a legitimate suggestion, but you shouldn't need to buy a watch just to be able to hear notifications. The phone costs a lot of money and is apparently state of the art technology lol.

I know. Tech is there to make life easy. If it works it's great. Otherwise ..........

Oh well, I'm sure they'll fix it as it appears to be a software issue. Thank you for your help.

That is interesting, it sounds normal when selecting but not when notifying.

I should have the same software/firmware as you, but I do not experience the issue, but I agree with you, it seems a bug. Hopefully the next update is out soon and will fix it.

Just found a thread on XDA Forums from 2018, with people complaining about the same issue with the S8 and S9. Very strange. I'm assuming that they fixed the issues with the S8 and S9, so probably just a waiting game now.

Well there's your problem. If ALL your notifications are on silent then what do you expect!

Obviously not ALL of them are. I only mute app notifications. Text message notifications are not on silent. Text message notifications are set to max volume. The issue is that they don't actually play in max volume. Come on, don't treat people as if they are stupid.

Text messages whether it be Samsung or Google ARE apps, so if you've turned off ALL app notifications then you need to look at your settings again. I never said you were stupid, i can only go off what you post.
