I recently got the s24 and I've noticed that when I get a notification from an app it doesn't wake up the phone. I will only notice the notification if I pick up the phone and unlock it. I've checked online and all my apps are set to notify me but I am not sure why it is not working to wake up the phone. Has anyone else had this issue?

Hello there, this sounds as if your notification mode is silent
Can you check the following:
No silencing mode is activated, such as sleep mode.
"Don't disturb" button is not activated
Lock screan notification is ON
Try changing the notification pop-up style to detailed instead of the brief
For the applications, in the notification list click on any app that You expect to notify you and check the notification is not "silent"

Hello 👋  @Rachrose32 and may I extend a Warm Welcome to the Samsung Community Forum.

Take a look in Settings > Notifications > Lockscreen Notifications > Ensure this is turned On > Show content > Choose your apps.

If you perform a forum search you may find existing threads with some further help or guidence within.

In Settings > Notifications > Do Not Disturb > Make sure this is not activated as mentioned by @Windroid  👍

While we try to find a resolution for you there is an app in the Playstore called Glimpse that should act as a workaround for now.

If i can be of any further help please don't hesitate to ask  😎

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "

On my galaxy s24+ I chose to hide most notification content on lock screan.for extra pricicy Yet, all the apps ring and vibrate and light the edges too 😁. Hiding the notification content doesn't make the notification silent as far as I can tell 🙃

Hi both. Thank you for your help. I've downloaded the app you have suggested and that has helped thank you. I checked everything else and my phone isn't set to DND or anything like that so I'm not sure why it's not waking up when I get a notification

@Rachrose32: When a notification comes through while the phone is idle, the screen will only wake momentarily. As a workaround, please head to Settings > Lock screen and AOD > Always On Display > Toggle this on > When to show > For new notifications. This will activate the Always On Display, and leave the notification icons visible until you unlock the device.

I have a galaxy a54 and I would want my screen to wake up for a new notification. But not just the classic wake up of the always on display, I would want all my screen to wake up. I have seen that some people want the opposite, and have what I want. So how could I get this? I was only able to do so with a 3rd party app, Glimpse Notification. Help?
