Hello 👋 @Rachrose32 and may I extend a Warm Welcome to the Samsung Community Forum.
Take a look in Settings > Notifications > Lockscreen Notifications > Ensure this is turned On > Show content > Choose your apps.
If you perform a forum search you may find existing threads with some further help or guidence within.
In Settings > Notifications > Do Not Disturb > Make sure this is not activated as mentioned by @Windroid 👍
While we try to find a resolution for you there is an app in the Playstore called Glimpse that should act as a workaround for now.
If i can be of any further help please don't hesitate to ask 😎
Daily Driver > Samsung Galaxy s²⁵ Ultra 512Gb ~ Titanium Black.
The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "

@Rachrose32: When a notification comes through while the phone is idle, the screen will only wake momentarily. As a workaround, please head to Settings > Lock screen and AOD > Always On Display > Toggle this on > When to show > For new notifications. This will activate the Always On Display, and leave the notification icons visible until you unlock the device.

I have a galaxy a54 and I would want my screen to wake up for a new notification. But not just the classic wake up of the always on display, I would want all my screen to wake up. I have seen that some people want the opposite, and have what I want. So how could I get this? I was only able to do so with a 3rd party app, Glimpse Notification. Help?
