No notifications on Lockscreen

Hi all, new S24 Ultra user here. 

Despite having it turned on in my Settings, I'm not getting visible notifications on my Lock screen. The phone makes a sound, but there's no visible indication of having received a notification. 

So if I've been away from my phone, upon my return I always have to unlock to see if I've missed a notification. 

Any ideas please?

Yes, all working fine now, thanks.
On my old phone I no longer have a user-wallpaper for the Lockscreen, but I used to when it was my main phone and never had this problem. Obviously the Settings menus on that phone didn't cause me to have this issue. The different menu, plus the huge amount of options as you note, make it easy to go down a rabbit hole with unintended consequences.

Thanks to timbo586 it's actually a simple problem to fix ho on to wallpaper settings cluck on the notifications icon and select detailed rather than icon . Thank you timbo586 . This has bugged me for weeks 🙏😂
