Long story short I had three different s24u devices to check the displays, all devices showed this weird film grain defect.

1 pre order, release date device. Vietnam.
1 samsung exclusive colour (Feb) made in Vietnam.
1 new stock, gray, (Feb) made in Korea

Last device made in Korea was newly brought in stock for the UK.

All three devices had this oled mura grain,
I'm assuming that Samsung has just decided to cut corners on their displays.

I have a couple of colleagues that also have the s24u and will ask them if I can check their displays.

So far seems most units have this, I don't know if people who claim that they don't have this issue actually know what mura looks like.

Anyways food for thought.

In 5 cases total, but you'll have people believe any incident is such a mass problem anyway. You might also recall the batteries were supplied by LG, but I guess that will also go unnoticed by you.

Sorry, but if your eye sight is so bad that you can't see mura, than you should visit a optician.

https://www.tomsguide.com/phones/samsung-phones/i-checked-my-galaxy-s24-to-see-if-its-display-has-a-...

GSMArena mentioned it in it's youtube review.
DXOMark mentioned it in it's comment section.
It's clearly visible in the DXOMark test.
Plenty of user on Smsung EU, US, UK are complaining about it.
People on Reddit are complaining about it.

So obviously there is an issue with a lot of units.

Are you blind?

The message box is GRAINY, if seen worse but the message box is grainy and the color isn't a solid grey in the photo.

Especially visible around "available".

But, why argue with someone who thinks a screenshot would capture something like mura or deadpixels.

Install display tester, go to the greys and set it to 8%. :smiling-face:

Do you even know what mura and color shift is?

Left picture: Text box is not a solid grey, right side of the display is brighter with redish/greenish artifacts.
Right picture: Again text box not a solid grey, left side of the display is brighter.

That isn't mura, you don't know what you're talking about. Firstly, these effects need to be SEEN, by a human not by the camera. The greenish artefacts and lighting shift is only an effect of the camera imaging system. These photos do not represent how any of it looks in real life. Those observations you rightfully point out, is not an effect of screen mura. Both screens have zero evidence of mura and I used them to clearly illustrate that my S24 Ultra screen is practically the same as my S21 Ultra.

You should really stop spreading false information.

Quote: "nearly 100 dangerous battery incidents had been reported in the United States"

Let me summarize it for you!

1) Hundreds or even thousand affected units world wide
2) Samsung recalled 2.5 mil units
4) The batteries were from Amperex Technology and Samsung SDI. Both faulty.
5) Samsung partnered with LG after this mess

But you're acting like Samsung never dealt swiftly with it and like it's some kind of common occurrence. You've obviously arrived here with an axe to grind, since you bring up the Note 7 like it's the only product in history to ever exhibit a failure.

I assume you didn't read the article. 🤣

Samsung didn't deal swiftly with it, Samsung was forced to deal with it.

Back to the display: Not "highest quality" nor does Samsung take the customers "very seriously".
