While doing my back stretching exercises, I was watching one of those YouTube videos, you know, first things to set up on your S24 series.
Mic mode was mentioned though it doesn't seem to be on my S24 Ultra purchased directly from Samsung here in the Netherlands.
This Mic mode, when enabled, acts as a background noise reducer when using the Phone app.
I couldn't find Mic mode anywhere even when using search in Settings.
Is that just offered in the US perhaps?

I cannot test it yet, but it is meant to be on the drop down menu?
Have you tried there? Pull the drop down menu fully and there should be a mic mode setting on the top.

Don't you get something like this? The option should appear when you are on a phone call
Mic Mode

I'll wait till I receive a call and assume it will pop up then.
Thanks.

An update ... my wife called me, I swiped down from the top of the screen and saw the Call mode.
To be honest, I tried using it, but perhaps I don't understand how it works.
My understanding is this, I'm on the phone with someone and there's a lot of background noise where I am. I change the Mode to Voice focus (or whatever it's called) and the person on the other end of the line hears less of my background noise, making my voice easier for the other person the hear me. Is that correct?
I tried that using the sound of an open faucet running and there was no difference for the person at the other end of the call.
At any rate, I do in fact have Mic mode, perhaps I need top try this out in a very noisy location.

I am glad the issue is sorted.
Your understanding is correct. It should filter background noise making emphasis on your voice, so that it is clearer to the other person and the end of the call.
I can think of a few reasons for the running water not being filtered out. The feature might be buggy. The running water might have been too close to the phone that it could have been "understood" that it was the intended sound to capture. Maybe the sound is in the range of frequencies that the algorithm ignores.
Birds chirping is the sort of noise that for one reason or another, it is always very clear to the person at the other end of the call. In the other hand, dog noises are usually filtered out without problems.
Trying the function in different environments sounds like a very good idea, to see how good/bad it works.
