Messages(like txt) voice notes no longer working past 2 days ? Any help please?

Hi,

I have a samsung s24. Dont use whats app, but use messages (white box with blue message thing in it google I believe).

Always send voice notes. And suddenly started crashing the app every time you try to attach it. So I tried to manually via the voice recorder then share it that way and same outcome. Never had any issue before. I tried to delete cache and data, then I could not longer even click the voice note icon, yet I could share the voice recorder message. This morning same as before can do neither. Any help or anyone had similar and know how I can fix this annoying issue? I would wipe the phones cache partition in recovery mode. Power the device down and plug up to a PC. If you don't have a PC you can use a another device or even a TV USB or a console. Then, press and hold the Volume Up and Power buttons simultaneously until the Samsung logo appears. Once the Android recovery menu loads, use the Volume keys to navigate to "wipe cache partition" and select it using the Power button. Finally, confirm your choice and reboot the device. Also good to download Good Guardians and run app booster. Available in the Galaxy store. Make sure all apps and software is updated. Also make sure Google play system is on the latest. If you are still experiencing issues then it could be a bug in Google Messages.

(Interesting development it seems to only be happening to people on google phones/rcs chats, I sent it to 2 friends on iphones and rcs chats and worked fine) any ideas?

Yes just tried to send to 3 people who have samsung/pixel phones. And happens. Yet to 2 iphone people also on rcs chats it worked fine.

A Google search brought up these trouble shooting steps.

Check the RCS status in Google Messages settings on your phone and your contacts' phones.

Ensure both Google Play Services and Google Messages are updated to the latest versions.

A simple restart can often resolve temporary glitches with RCS.

Turn off RCS in Google Messages settings, wait a few minutes, and then turn it back on. This can sometimes force a new RCS handshake.

Contact your carrier to inquire about any known RCS issues or updates related to your service.

If the problem persists, you may need to contact Google Messages support or your carrier for further assistance.
