Lock screen photos disappearing

Several times I have added up to 15 photos from my Gallery to the lock screen. They randomly appear at unlock. Trouble is they seem to vanish and decrease in number. It has happened many times!? Any help please? Thank you

It does not seem to make much difference. The number of photos goes down to 5 or 6 within a few days. 😮
