Hi all,

Since the update to One UI 7, I've seen a huge increase in spam text messages.

I've got spam protection and ad blocker turned on - is there something I'm missing, or something else I should be doing?

Keep blocking and reporting if have time. It will eventually subside. Your phone number might have gone onto automated lists

For me, Facebook was a culprit.
Even though I had my settings on private.
My phone number was given out by Facebook
I deleted my account and deleted Facebook off my phone and the unwarranted texts and phones have almost completely stopped
Get the odd one occasionally. But after getting rid of Facebook it all but stopped
Maybe check privacy settings in your social media apps in case

There have been several large scale cyber attacks which have been well reported so may have emminated from there.

Nothing to do with your OS being updated.

Agreed - I think it's just an unlucky coincidence. Just think my phone number is now out there somewhere, frustratingly..

I also get them from time to time. Best thing you can do is block and report. You can forward spam texts messages onto 7726, followed by the number. That way, your carrier can then block the number. Its really hard to tell which companies are selling ppl info's. But stay alert and vigilant is best to oversmart scammers.
