Google msgs (txts)has changed my background colour from light blue to white why?

I can't work out why this has happened, I like the light blue but not the white its too bright. Tried restarting phone. Its on default setting which was always light blue. Now when you change and go back theres no option just goes white. I've tried changing each individual message doesnt change. I can literally now only have white or black (dark mode) and i'm not fond of either. Why has this happened please? And how do I switch back? Any help would be brilliant thank you.

Why can't things just be left alone.!!

I think if i had to choose the white or the dark id agree. But i just want what I had for past 3/4 years : ( light blue

Send feedback to Google then. Maybe Google use material theme and this will be better on OneUI 8 (Android 16)

Thats like throwing a coin down a wishing well and hoping for the wish to come true!

I just asked on this forum to see if anyone had encounted the similar problem and for help really.

I'd agree with Sonora. This is a Google issue. Seems they've changed the background colour from light blue to white.
