Why does the phone have extremely poor location accuracy when using Google maps and driving. Often it doesn't move or says I'm going backwards. It's the S24+ exynos. 

I can see many others are making posts about this and it's honestly dangerous. When will this be fixed?

You can improve the accuracy by heading to settings>location >location services. See screenshot

I've done this. There are posts on reddit regarding this issue and it's honestly so dangerous.

You can send feedback to Samsung via your Samsung members app or reach out to Google themselves.

I've not experienced a problem personally however this might also be a query directed at Google as well as Samsung if issues are being experienced @A52suser

I have had the same issue with Google Maps since i got the S24 in the spring. It randomly pauses, for a while the pauses were the exact number of seconds each time (around 6 seconds if I remember correctly). I used an S21 up till then, and it worked fine.

Recently it has escalated, so it pauses for several minutes and sometimes goes very far backwards. For now it’s an unsafe way to navigate.

I’ve tried every solution I could google, but no improvements.

Apps like Waze work without any pauses or loss of signal at all. GPS Status & Toolbox says it’s fixed to a ton of satellites. It seems to be related to the combination of S24 and Google Maps only.

I recently aquired an S24 and have found Google maps to be totally unreliable and frankly dangerous.  The GPS signal is dropping out constantly, the arrow freezes or shows me going in a different directions to that which I am.  I never had an issue on my S22, but I'm finding the S24 to be unusable.  Is the only solution to start using Waze, really?  This was not a cheap phone, but overall I'm seriously considering going back to my S22.

Recently I discovered that I was using Maps in beta mode, so I turned it off. On the same day there was an update for the phone available, so I installed it. After this I haven't had any issue with Google Maps on the S24. Only 5-6 days since, so maybe to early to tell if it is fixed permanently,  but I have driven 300 km without any drop outs or misbehaviour, which were very frequent before.

Sorry how did you turn beta mode off? Not sure if I need do that as well. Is it something in settings?
