I just bought the Ultra yesterday and this morning I wake up and hear that Dex, the only reason I bought the phone, is dead in the next update.

Not cool. Last Samsung I'll own.

I've seen multiple posts about bixby being better then any voice assistant ever and apparently it still will be a thing but then the next day media covers that it won't be a thing.. it's just waiting game at this point as nothing official and Media is all over the place as people just want to hear something official. 😁 great image reflecting of rage of people if that will becomes true 👌😆

Thank you 🤭, It was created when I heard that the Edge panel would be removed, so I quickly downloaded all the Samsung edge panels, because what we've already downloaded we'll be able to continue using until we uninstall it.😱🙄

Others have said, but to be clear, this article is only suggesting that Dex for windows feature is going, not Dex itself.

The ability to plug directly into or wirelessly cast to a supporting monitor, screen or TV will continue

@Samsung PLEASE don't Kill DEX 🙏
I know that only the Dex on PC windows app is killed for now. DEX is THE reason i moved to Samsung and got the S24 Ultra.
I use Link for Window daily BUT you can't resize the windows as you can on native DEX. The form of the windows always stays the same (fixed in either portrait or landscape). For instance, for Internet browser, I would rather prefer to use a landscape format (rather than portrait) to match my pc ultrawide screen format... In proper DEX, not a an issue as you can freely resize windows to whatever format.

Ok let's get it clear on this whole DEX being removed it is only being REMOVED on WINDOWS not from the PHONE you will still be able to use it from your phone.
Honestly never seen the point of using dex on windows

@samsung DeX is THE feature that made me move to Samsung. I used it every where. While traveling on hotel tv, in my car, on my work laptop etc.
Please keep developing DeX... this is a key differential feature that put Samsung on top!...

Killing Dex for Windows app makes it far more difficult to have a good experience using DeX on a laptop/PC Screen. Using the recommended Link to Window (which I also use daily) is not good enough.. Link to Window stream the phone screen to the pc screen, this is not the same as DeX. Indeed:
- You can't resize windows freely, they are locked in the phone screen ratio (mostly portrait). For instance, you can't use your phone internet on the pc in full screen (stuck in phone portrait mode)! You can't resize your music streaming app to a small "player" window (also stuck in phone portrait ratio).
- Window quality is appauling (streaming over Wifi rather than the proper app). This can result in pixelised experience and low quality screen (don't do graphic of RDP over link to windows!!!)
- You can't pin an app (on top) natively (there are app on windows that do that for all windows but they are not native).
Please either drastically improve Link to Window (developed by microsoft instead of Samsung) or keep supporting the Dex for PC app (developed by Samsung for windows), hence why they want to get ride of the PC app?
