I just bought the Ultra yesterday and this morning I wake up and hear that Dex, the only reason I bought the phone, is dead in the next update.

Not cool. Last Samsung I'll own.

Hi and may I extend a Warm Welcome to the Samsung Community Forum @Paul-U  👋

I've been reading various tech sites too i.e https://www.sammobile.com/news/one-ui-7-0-is-getting-rid-of-the-samsung-dex-app-for-windows/

I haven't seen anything official yet however.

Daily Driver > Samsung Galaxy s²⁵ Ultra 512Gb ~ Titanium Black.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "

I think it'll stay available on monitors and screens via HDMI connection. For Windows PCs though, they seem to be pushing for a shift to 'Link To Windows', a feature that they also offer within the phones, designed to work well with the Windows OS.

Personally, I've used Samsung Flow a lot more than Dex on my PC, I hope that'll stay.

Hi there 👋 and welcome

As @BandOfBrothers perfectly said, it's nothing official yet. There's plenty sites who suggest that, but better wait something official from Samsung, as they planning not only get rid of bixby also edge panels and probably we going to see more things, but as yet better to wait.

Be a shame like others here i use it allot and in particular when I am travelling light and don't want to lug a laptop around.

That said app support for DeX has been long dead, but works perfect for me, shame if UI7 ditches it.

Windows Phone Link is pants, I hate it, too buggy and not what I want.

UI7 is becoming more Google 💩

One thing that isn't clear, it that the only info relates to connecting to PC, which I admit is something I've never done. I always either use a monitor if I have one, or a TV if not. I don't care about connecting it to a PC.. if there is a PC in the room then use the PC, right? This is so weird to think Dex is going away. I've just turned off auto-update. You can stuff UI7.

This guy claims that Samsung has officially confirmed that it is removing Dex for PC, but Dex for TV remains
