DeX issues

I genuinely dont understand why samsung changed an app which was marketed as "a familiar desktop experiance for your mobile and tablet" to an app which is now a tablet experience. The whole point of dex was to make your phone or tablet into a desktop, not your phone into a bigger phone and your tablet into a bigger tablet. It makes DEX absolutely useless.

Does anyone know how to enable classic dex on one ui 8, because this version of dex is completely unusable for me. I want DeX to provide me with a desktop experiance, as i need it for my work, not ti make my phone bigger and project it onto a montior in a "tablet experience". 

Or how can i go back to one ui 7 without a pc/laptop as I dont have one.

I dont quite understand 'tablet experience'.

I have the fold 8 on oneui8 and I use it with a USB C dock, a 27" monitor and USB keyboard and mouse. It works fine as a desktop.

What do you mean a tablet experience? In what way has it changed recently ?

It doesn't work like classic dex, new dex with one ui 8 works like a tablet, and doesn't offer the same functionality as desktops. The app draw is now a scrolling app draw like it is on phones and tablets, not like it was before. You cannot pin more than 5 apps onto the task taskbar just like you can on a phone or tablet, and it overall isn't like using a phone or tablet, I can provide video proof of this

How do you connect to use it ? And to what device ? Do you use a USB hub and HDMI to a monitor ? I have Just come up to my PC desk and plugged in.

I have more than 12 pinned apps to task bar. 10 windows open. Perfect desktop experience to multi task and the windows also 'snap to fit' just like Microsoft windows.

I have ms teams, office, socials, calendar, all to hand at any time to bring up. Windows style shortcuts for ctrl-c and ctrl-v etc all work just as in a desktop.

I am not sure what your complaint is. It works just like dex has done before and I have used this app on and off since the s8 plus phone some 10 years or so ago.

I have my s24 ultra connected via usbc to hdmi cable. As you can see I cant even properly run my vps, everything is broken, out of aspect, the taskbar won't let me attach things, honestly its un-usable for me and my work

do you have the settings - connected devices - Samsung Dex - connected display setting.

Is it set to extended rather than mirrored ?

yup, im connected but honestly i cant do anything close to what u can do in comparison

I just got One UI 8 on my Galaxy Tab S8, and I am soooo pissed off/upset at all the changes.

Like everyone has stated, I don't like the tablet-only DeX. I want the actual Desktop environment.

Fonts are weirdly larger than before??? And the setting to scale font sizes back don't seem to be working.

Apps open in weird sizes and don't seem to "like" to be in full screen. (If I switch back and forth, rather than each app staying full screen, they go to some weird not full screen.)

And I keep getting messages about not being able to open more than 5 apps at a time!
