Camera usage battery drains faster

I think this is pretty common, but I thought I'd mention it, maybe it can be fixed with a feature update.
When using the camera the phone gets a bit warm and it drains a few percentages of the battery faster.
Using RAW and PRO modes accelerate this even more.
This stops a couple of minutes after the camera is not in use anymore.
I am sure it's because the phone is using all that complicated camera hardware and photo processing, switching between lenses, etc.
I'm sure it's the same with recording videos.

The camera will be quite a big draw on power and needs quite a lot of processing.
Software is working hard to constantly adjust picture balance and stabilisation etc.
PRO and especially RAW will use more due to settings and especially with RAW, the file sizes are large and put the processing to work.
Video will definitely put more strain on processing.
So the area with the chipset will get warmer. Naturally with the build up of heat, more battery power will be required.
Things are getting better with each generation of new chips and thermal efficiency is something that developers are working on.
At some point there maybe a happy medium where they can get that sweetspot so to speak.
Software is getting better as time goes on as well

I thought my phone was broken before I figured out why it's happening like that. I always say that I have great faith in Samsung updates. If Samsung gets better at camera vs battery vs chipset quality I might not wait 7 years and get one of the future phones, but i am aiming to wait at least 2-3 years. One of the top features I want on my phone is great battery life no matter what I use on my phone and while I am happy with less display brightness etc I don't want to worry about battery life while using some of the important apps of the phone.

Improvements have come a long way.
Used to have a battery pack I would carry around at one time.
My old S6 Edge and S6 Edge plus barely lasted a morning at one time.
To get two days use now is great. Lite use I seen others get more.
Phones of old used to get quite hot inside if using the cameras at one time.
Mine just get warm now. Ironically I found the Exynos chips don't seem to get as warm as the Snapdragon ones.
I reckon in 7 years, phones will be proper powerhouses and could have different battery technology by then

Yes I fully agree. Can't compare performance on S24U with any other phones. S23U is similar. Also the Exynox devices now are better because of the new technology.
