I faced the same issue in the mall earlier today.
I was taking some portrait pictures and there's something really off about it like very grainy and little blurred up. I wouldn't say it was taken in low light conditions as there were very bright artificial lights in the mall, yet it turned out not that great. But photos taken in natural light is so breathtaking.
Also the the portrait effect doesn't look that great in the same lighting conditions.
Am I missing something? The photos were taken in stock settings. Portrait and 3x zoom.
