Hey guys, I got my S24 Ultra a week ago, but the battery drains so fast. I end up with only 6 hours screen on time at the end of the day and have to charge it in between. My screen is set to qhd and 120 adaptive hz. Reviewers are raving about long battery life, even two day battery life.

Also, the camera sucks. The exposure is always too high, and the night mode is terrible. The picture quality is way worse than my old Galaxy Z Fold 4 which is a surprise, given it comes from the s22 (not even the ultra).

Appreciate any support on this and please not telling me to put on fhd and other power save modes, no point getting an ultra for that!

Thank you all.

To be honest, I've found that my S23 ultra had better battery life. But it if the phone is anything like the watch, it's on a learning cycle. Hopefully, an update will sort the issue out. No point in complaining they won't listen to you

Thanks, that's what I'm seriously hoping. It's put about 19 apps into deep sleep (have about 110) but I'm hoping it's still learning

I've looked in the battery part of the support, and it does say that consumption may be slightly higher to start with, so fingers crossed. I've the diagnostics, and it's coming back as normal

My s24 ultra is similar to s23u...I am quite heavy user, I only charged to 80% and I am able to use for almost full day.... so my experience of s24u is not bad similar to my old s23u, but the new phone is still learning l, so I guess it will get better

@KratosGodButcher

The fast battery drain is the result of the learning period. It should settle after this period ends.

I totally agree with you, there is no point in disabling everything that make the ultra an ultra.

When I got my S22U, I did not do any optimization, on the contrary I got all settings in the way I use the phone. I left the screen to max resolution, charge battery to 100%, did not limit anything and I am getting over 3 days with one charge after almost 2 years of usage.

Of course, that very heavy use will decrease that, but battery usage is something that truly gets better. This is not counting battery degradation with time, nothing will help with that

@KratosGodButcher

I have seen great pictures so far, but I cannot comment on picture quality because my S24U 1TB blue is meant to arrive by the 9th of Feb, if Samsung does not send me an email on the 8th just saying that my order has been delayed, which is another yearly Samsung tradition.

I am assuming that you are referring to the stock camera app. Again from previous experience, this is something that also improves. The stock camera on the S22U was taking really bad quality pictures, but it was the app, because Expert Raw was taking very good ones. The stock camera has improved considerably. The JPGs are decent now.

Have you tried Expert Raw? Are those pictures also bad? Expert Raw is also a Samsung App and can be installed free from the Galaxy Store.
