When it comes to app notifications, I'm seeing (at least with Tasker's) that I have less control over them than I did on my Pixel 6. There was more granularity, where you could choose which of Tasker's notifications you want to allow (and there was about 20 to choose from). So now on my S24 it's all or nothing. I don't want all, and I don't want none. Here on the left is the Settings->Apps->Tasker->Notifications screen from my Pixel 6 and on the right the same screen from my S24. It's almost as if the Pixel 6 is in advanced mode and the S24 is in a simple mode.
I didn't find any related threads but I think I've found what I need, or at least mostly what I need. As you can see in the original post, there was a lot more notification categories on my Pixel compared to the S24, which had basically all or nothing. I've now managed to get 7 categories. It's not the nearly 20 categories I got on the Pixel, but it's way better than all-or-nothing 😁
Here's what I did:
Went into Settings and searched for "notifications". From the results I chose "App notifications". Then clicked on "Advanced settings". Then enabled "Manage notification categories for each app". Then when I went back to Settings->Apps->Tasker->Notifications if you scroll down to the bottom, you now have a "Notification categories" that you can tap on. It wasn't there before. Below is a screenshot of the newly enabled Notification categories. you can see I now have the all-or-nothing option, and 6 individual categories (4 of which I wanted to disable).
I want to let Tasker notify me when it has something important to say. I just don't want it telling me (a) that it's running, (b) which profiles are active, or any other pointless things using up space on my notification bar at the top.
