Looking for some help. I have an Ultra S24 brought in the UK with no issues, I went on holiday to Tunisia this year and could not use it as a fault kept coming up with "No network coverage" and "No antenna signal". I also tried with the local WIFI but the same fault came up. When i got back into the UK it all worked fine.

I'm due to go to Dubai next year and I'm concerned that the same fault may happen again, so i went to my local Samsung outlet who advised it maybe the antenna? my question is to you all is "Is there a fix for this?"

Look forward to your replies.

Ok, so at least we know that your S24U's antennas are working fine. So its not a device/technical issue.

Id suggest turn Roaming on when you are in Dubai? My roaming is always on, EE doesn't let me spend anything outside of the plan anyway unless I buy packages for that specific country

Do you have roaming on? Your uk sim card/contract has to specifically say it'll work in each country you visit. Phones are also regional, different countries use different signals so a uk phone might not work in non uk countries. That's rare these days so I'm guessing your issue is to do with roaming and your cell plan.

There is no issue with the phones antenna

A few questions;

1 Have you turned on Roaming?
2 Did your phone show ANY signal (bars) on top right corner of your phone?

I just want to understand, whether its a device issue or simply compatibility (restriction) with a foreign network?

As for Dubai, a friend of mine from London goes there very often. He is with EE and he doesnt have any problems with networks.

He does use an Iphone though, I might add.

Hi @Members_LIIoU9S

May I extend a Warm Welcome to the Samsung Community Forum 👍

I recently travelled to Gran Canaria and the phone seamlessly connected to the local network as I roamed ,and wifi worked fine too.

Now it could have been the network itself your phone's attempting to latch onto including wifi.

It might be worth looking at using a local sim if this happens again.

As everything works fine in the UK and the phone I'd magine has the required bands and frequencies to work abroad I'm thinking it was the nnetwork abroad.

If i can be of any further help please don't hesitate to ask  😎

Roaming off with bars on the phone

Roaming allows you to have signal in other countries. You are charged extra to use your phone in other countries. So your options are turn roaming on and pay more or have no signal. That's how traveling with a phone works. With roaming off, you won't have any signal in any other country
