Can anyone tell me why when I fly to another country with my SIM card it goes into roaming mode and when I receive a call the internet stops working until I end the call? Does anyone have a solution?

Let me explain a little on phone signals and protocols. 2g and 3g allow calls text and data. 4g and 5g only allow data. Modern networks use VoLTE to send phone calls as data through 4g and 5g.

What you're experiencing is most likely the foreign network not supporting VoLTE, when you make a phone call, your phone swaps to 3g or 2g to make the call, making data super slow or stop working. I don't have a solution this is kinda just how things work

Any network stuff will be down to your provider. May be worth contacting about what youre paying for and what's included in your plan.

@arianwen27 comment explains stiff nicely too

What does this have to do with my plan? I have a plan that includes roaming in Europe, but when it comes to a call, the internet disappears until the call is disconnected.

Calling through mobile data, yes? I imagine you're just getting a bad signal from your provider, and the extra data used during a call is killing your connection. Just because you pay for roaming doesn't necessarily mean YOU will have enough signal. This happens even in the UK in more rural areas.

To be sure, you're not in low power mode/battery saving mode? As this can affect mobile connection. The reason I say your provider as their coverage may just be poor where you are
