Hello to all,

Strange issue; I have had two original Samsung 45-watt chargers, and both suddenly stopped working. The first one died after two weeks and barely 10–15 uses. I had the second one for five months, but because of work travel, I used it only about 20 times, and it also just stopped working.

They both worked fine; they didn't stop charging while in use. At one point, I plugged it in, and nothing happened.

Tested it on three phones; nothing. The cable is also an original Samsung cable.

I also have a 25-watt charger; this one has no issues.

Could my phone be actually causing this? I prefer to have original products and would like to continue using Samsung chargers, but what if I get a third one from Samsung and get the same issue?

Anyone else experiencing something similar?

Hi! Welcome to the samsung members community

Claim warrenty is my suggestion. Reach out to samsung 😊 though, this id very odd to happen at the same time- have you tested them on other devices?

Hmm that sounds very unfortunate. It could be caused by a poor electrical outlet or supply. To happen to 2 chargers in a short time suggests as much. I've had an original Samsung 45W charger now for over 5 years and it still works perfectly fine.

Hi, thank you for your reply!

Yes, I tested it on three phones: two S24 Ultra and one S24 FE, and also on a Galaxy Watch. The charger is just dead. All three phones work with 25-watt and other chargers I have. I also tested the cable; it works with other chargers.

I am currently returning the chargers, but is it worth getting a third Samsung charger or going cheaper with some alternatives? I am really disappointed; I expect an expensive, original charger bought from a Samsung store to work for more than 20 charging cycles.

Absolutely, they should! Hope you get it sorted. Definitely expect them to work for much longer! I personally use Samsung plugs and haven't experienced such problems—at worst, go with a safe option such as Anker.

Hi Pikula, like it's been mentioned, probably there is a problem with the power supply, I have chargers I saved from phones over the years and they still work. Maybe try to change the socked that you are using. Only use original characters and data cables because they are adapted to the device you are using them for.

Not a poor outlet; one died in one country, the other in another country. Also, not at the same time. I bought the first one in November 2024; it died after two weeks. I bought the second one after the first one died; I had it for five months, but because of travel, I packed the 25-watt one, so I didn't use the 45-watt one for some time. The last time I used it was in December, and today I took it out of the drawer to take with me on another trip. I plugged it in after I reached my destination; the same thing happened—nothing. It worked fine the last time I used it in December and now its paper weight.

Maybe you can get a refund for them, also very unfortunate that both broke, and weird because the 25W works fine. May I ask where did you buy them from?
