Samsung S24 reboots every x minutes (ONE UI crash?!)

Hello,

I bought a new Samsung Galaxy S24. I transfered all the data, apps, settings etc. from my Samsung S10+ using Smart Switch. After the installation, the S24 started rebooting every x minutes (always after 2 to 10 minutes)!

The support service from Samsung suggested to do a soft reset but that didn't solve the problem. The support service from Samsung then suggested to do a hard reset using "Reset to factory settings" in the settings menu, but that also didn't solve the problem. Then I did a hard reset using the keys... but again no solution. I started deleting the apps (5 at a time) and waited for the result. I kept doing this until all apps where deleted, but the smartphone kept on rebooting. I did a hard reset again, and I started installing the apps from scratch (no import of history, apps, settings, ... at all). At first it seems to work, but when I finally had everything in place, the problem just started again.

Then I deleted the cache data by selecting the option from the boot menu (restart with holding the keys). But again... no solution for the problem.

I sent a memory dump of the crash moment to Samsung, but they didn't do anything with that. I sent a video recording of the issue (with another phone), but no response from Samsung.

If anyone has an idea, please let me know.

I was thinking of returning this phone and ask for a new one, but I guess it won't solve the problem!

Is this the moment I'm saying goodbye to Samsung, forever!

Many thanks,
Peter VG

Problem solved...

Finally the problem seems to be solved. After I installed everything, the automatic reboot problem started as I mentioned in my first post. During a chat with Samsung helpdesk, they suggested to go to a Samsung service center to have the software reinstalled completely. So I removed all my accounts (just to make sure) before going to the service center. But suddenly the smartphone didn't reboot anymore.

Was there some light at the end of the tunnel... I started adding the accounts one by one, and only when I added my Samsung account, the automatic reboots restarted. So I removed all accounts again, and added the Samsung account of my son. And there were no automatic reboots with his account. So maybe there is something wrong with my Samsung account. So I switched back to my Samsung account, but the automatic reboots didn't come back! I installed all other accounts, and still no problems.

A week later (today), the smartphone is still working fine! Was there a problem with my samsung account, although I never synchronise anything with Samsung except Samsung Pass!
For now no-one knows what setting or data of my Samsung account caused this problem, but adding my sons Samsung account solved the issue with my Samsung account.

Anyway... fingers crossed and hopefully the issue won't come back after a few weeks, months, years, ...

Hope it will help someone else with thesame problem.

Kind regards,
Peter VG

Switching accounts didn't solve the issue this time.

I went to a Samsung service center and eventually the motherboard had to be replaced. The issue seems to be solved now.

Kind regards.

Samsung is ruining their own mobile department.
I've several colleagues with a Galaxy A series model and it also reboots out of itself. Samsung doesn't test their own software before deploying it. Aside from the factory reset u did I don't know what's the issue. I would pass by a Samsung Service Center and demand a repair.
Plus, it's a S24 which has warranty. I would resend it to Samsung. And FYI, I always do a clean install. I used Smart Switch once and had app compatibility issues, therefore I don't trust that app

Hello,

The issue is back. For some reason the phone starts rebooting itself again. The time between reboots is different. I disabled all synchronisation, WIFI, etc. but no solution.

So, what to do now?

Kind regards,
