Why does it take longer to receive an email notification on Samsung vs iPhone?

Hi

I find that email notifications arrive waayyyy faster on my iPad 6 mini than my S23+.

Can anyone explain the reason for this, and if there is a way to speed up the notifications?

I have read something about Google wanting to deliver emails in batches so it waits a few mins before delivering the email. Might be incorrect though.

Some email accounts are pop3 and some are imap. 

Mine is an imap version but my email account won't let me set it to push straight away. There's set timescales. 

Have a look at your specific email setting and preferences on each device. 

I use an ipad and this phone and to be honest I haven't noticed any noticeable delay between the two.

I have a Gmail account which has imap enabled.
The Gmail app pulls messages through in batches, several times a day, which is annoying.
It doesn't do it on a different s23 my partner has.
