Try clearing phone cache and restarting the phone. It could be some runaway process especially if you haven't restarted phone for days

Dude, It is good to perform a Factory Reset from the recovery, when an Important update is released. Ex. One 5 to One 6, Android 13 to Android 14, and do a clean setup (do not upload back up), once the Update is installed.
And It is important to do a battery calibration sometimes.

Network Connection is pretty weak so the phone would be working harder to maintain connection.
Also use the optimisation tool in your Device Care Section to see if that shows any unusual high usage on the battery.
Safe Mode is a good troubleshooting step too.
> Safe Mode > https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-to-start-my-galaxy-device-in-safe-mode/ turns off downloaded apps and themes etc which may highlight an app or theme that's causing conflict.
If I can be of any further help then please don't hesitate. Take care. 😎

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "

Thank you BandOfBrothers, I always appreciate reading your comments.
My network connection with my phone is good 100-400mbps typically, and mobile coverage is 5G. I do have battery 'auto-optimisation' set, and it says the last "auto memory cleaning" completed before the battery went off. Compared with previous nights, it does look like some errant processes were using battery which wouldn't normally at those times. (Always On Display, Google Play, System UI).
I'll turn on the auto-reboot and I have cleared my cache so hopefully will not see the issue again.
