Some notifications not working on data

I've been having a problem where some notifications don't come on when I'm on data and only when I'm on WiFi. I have Internet connection when I'm on data but I don't know why this might be?

Anyone have any idea?

Hi, agree with your observation.  Indeed Google play Services need to have mobile services access.  That was one of the things I checked when I had the problem. 

The problem I faced was that some notifications where not coming in while some were.  The symptom with whatsapp was that if I use the app and then lock the phone, notification will still come in within the next few minutes.  however, if i did not open the app for a longer period of time, eg 30 min, no notification would come in.  the same goes for my gmail.  My conclusion is that for my case, there were some internal settings that seems to be corrupted when I use switch software to copy from my old phone.

Hope this helps for others who had similar issue as me.

Your comment is helpful to me. I also have a few more theories and experiments that I did when I had the problem to share. 

When some notifications weren't coming through while others were, and notifications only appeared when I opened the app, I did as follows. 

Outlook - I uninstalled and re-installed it, and it worked.

Messenger - I needed to turn off the 'data saver' mode, as it was preventing notifications when the screen was locked. 

Line - I discovered that the notification pop-up style was affecting it. When 'Detailed' was selected, I didn't receive any notifications from Line. I had to switch to 'Brief' and then the notifications appeared on the lock screen.
