Smart Select edge panel gone!!!

I've been using Samsung phones for years and my favourite features have slowly been removed. The removable battery, the IR blaster, the Headphone jack, the SD card slot, reverse wireless charging whilst charging the phone and now smart select??? I want my smart select back as I used it all the time and without this I might as well buy a different phones like iPhone or the Nubia Red magic. All my favourite features keep getting removed and now they're removing software features too. If this feature doesn't come back then I think I'm honestly done buying Samsung phones.

Idc if this is Samsung's official website, Samsung are actual dummies for this. Smart Select was genuinely one of their best features, and I don't want to hear anyone, and I mean anyone, say the new BS AI variant is better. It's objectively not. It's slower, it's clunkier, it's less effective and less precise. You pay for their products, update your devices and get treated like a jerk for even liking them in the first place.

Samsung, bring back the old smart select feature, that includes rectangle, circle and GIF maker. You don't have to remove the new one, even though you clearly like removing features anyway, but just give me the choice. Dumb.

Right now Samsung haven't officially confirmed this as far as I'm currently aware. 

Another thought is that if a phone already has the edge panels on then the update won't remove the option. 

Let's see what actually happens.

what update on what device caused that to your phone?

If it is the regular security updates, they don't make major UI change unless that UI element is compromising the security of the device.

I still have mine with all its quirks! and my phone is up to date (2/12/2024)

That's just not the smart select I used before... It's extremely clunky and cumbersome for simple tasks such as taking a screenshot of a certain part of the screen or pinning a bit of the screen. Now you have to highlight it, hope it gets what you want (which it doesn't 90% of the time) and then resize it. Whereas the old one worked almost flawlessly and was very easy to use. I don't want them to remove this new one. BUT ADD THE OLD ONE BACK!
