Search bar relocation after upgrade

Anyone else find it incredibly annoying that the phones search bar has been relocated to the bottom of the screen (after the most recent update)? Especially as it seems it is now impossible to use it, without closing open apps! Not being able to use the search whilst an app is open (when the search is related to something I'm doing within the app) is frustrating and not in the least convenient. Anyone know how this can be rectified?

I guess that's what she meant, it can be achieved with the multi window option in Advanced settings.

So while in this app, I wanted to search and access gallery for the screenshot... but had to close this app first. Sorry if I'm new to the issue, and not smart enough to know the work around yet... 🤷‍♀️

If you want to search a picture in the gallery and add it to a post or reply, you don't have to close the app, you do it by pressing the plus button on the left side of the text window that will open the gallery on your phone and you can chose from there the desired picture, as it will display all your albums.

And if you want the search, within launcher that is, to be on top then you'll need a 3rd party launcher; like Microsoft launcher, Nova, etc

New update and I've lost my quick check bar ,sound, vibration and mute all gone ,now have to go to settings to turn phone on silent or vibration when at work, help

Swipe from top right corner. They are all there in quick settings

I think it's better being at the bottom, it never made sense to be at the top to me. When you want to use it, you need to have your finger and hand at the top, only to drag it back down to the keyboard to type your search. That seems a redundant way to work rather than being at the bottom where you'll naturally have your keyboard pop up.
