Search bar relocation after upgrade

Anyone else find it incredibly annoying that the phones search bar has been relocated to the bottom of the screen (after the most recent update)? Especially as it seems it is now impossible to use it, without closing open apps! Not being able to use the search whilst an app is open (when the search is related to something I'm doing within the app) is frustrating and not in the least convenient. Anyone know how this can be rectified?

You can use the Settings search bar in applications if you split the screen

Just for future info the Google pixel launcher on Android 15 as the search bar at the top so it's not Google's doing.
