Think a lot used to take that off and put their own one on, adding to plastic waste
The factory one wasn't really a proper screen protector as it provided minimum protection for shipping anyway

I believe it's about the carbon footprint Samsung has @sweeney
Some don't want to use one to peel it off and bin it.
Some want to use their own so again peel it off and fit their own.
Samsung do sell their official Tpu screen protector.
Businesses such as Whitestone Dome also sell Tpu Protectors or tempered glass screen Protectors.
I use the official Samsung Tpu option on my phone which is easy to fit and works fine with the fingerprint scanner and sPen.
I've also used the WSD glass screen Protector which works ok with the scanner and sPen but needs care and attention when fitting it.
There are other options available from other outlets too.
Just don't choose a glass one that only adheres around the edges and check it's case compatible with your choice of case if any is used.
If I can be of any further help then please don't hesitate. Take care. 😎

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "
