Hi guys,

Just thought I'd share my views on all this "where's the August update and beta program".
There seems to be a lot of angry people complaining about this😅,but personally speaking I'm not that concerned.
The updates will come when they are ready,it's not like we are not going to receive any updates ever again.
I understand people wanting updates for the security of their phones, but our phones are not in any danger as far as I know having to wait a few extra weeks 🤷😂.
I've had phones from other brands where you get updates maybe once every 3 months(oppo, OnePlus) and those phones worked absolutely fine with no risk to the user.
One thing I would agree on is that Samsung should communicate to it's customers on when updates are likely to be released, then at least people would have an idea of when they are coming and thus not be soooo angry😅.

As for the beta, this does make me laugh a bit when some(not all) of users moan about not getting it yet,and these are the same people that moan that it's a "buggy mess" when they do finally install it...........like yeah it's a beta 🤷😂.

Anyway these are just my thoughts and I'm sorry if you disagree with me,it's just an opinion and not to cause offence😊.

I appreciate some wanting updates due to Enterprises putting blocks in place, but normally that done at a major version level, I.e. Android 12 or 13 etc.

If Enterprises blocking based on security patch level then that only going to cause them issues & repeated Support requests... I say this working for an IT Consultancy myself on internal IT.

Not even aware of any reason you'd manage to that level as don't believe any compliance or certifications require that level of risk management & don't believe any Gov Dept requires that level either. If they do genuinely require it then they should manage the patching of the devices at a centralised global level.

Yeah it's not been released in some regions yet,in the UK it has been known that beta 2 is the first time you get to try it out

So if you owned a phone from say oppo,OnePlus,Motorola etc then you would be constantly blocked by said company 🤔.

Hence why these companies wouldn't be purchased..

I completely agree with you here. I haven't been in the situation, this is just something I picked up from similar forums to answer the question here

I tried out the beta version once and once it became apparent that banking, google pay etc stop working I had to revert back as I needed to use my phone. I usually like enabling developer mode but that too has some security issues with some apps so I tend to wait for the official versions to be released. If my phone is working fine it's a case of hold your breath when an update comes hoping it doesn't bring new bugs whilst fixing others. In my opinion beta versions are not suitable if it's your only or main phone due to some of the functions that are disabled

Yeah I agree, beta is definitely not for everyone.
If you have a spare phone and want to try it out then go for it,but yeah wouldn't advise risking your main phone

The point is being missed, when you pay for something, and it is meant to come with security patches, for a period of time which can have a baring on usability, failing to provide them is frustrating and a failure to provide the service paid for. Regardless of whether you need them or not, Samsung are failing to meet there obligations.

Samsung offers 4 years of os updates and 5 years of security updates, which is what you are getting.
samsung are meeting their obligations it's just we are so used to having security patches at the beginning of every month,so when we don't get one or it's late everyone goes crazy 🤣.
So I'm not sure what point is being missed.samsung have never said you will get timely monthly updates to my knowledge 🤔.
Our phones continue to work as they should(at least mine does) and they are not at any great risk.
