Not sure if it is my piece ( i tried two different ones) but night photography seems quite bad (my old s21 Ultra was great)
The night shot, especially outdoors have trouble focusing. The lights in the pictures bleed. The pictures has noise and over saturated. Sometimes what you see is what you don't get after taking the picture. The pre shot looks out of focus and noisy but the actual picture is a lot better. S21 and S22 ultras shows a lot more stars in the picture, which a naked eye did not see. The S23 ultra had difficulty seeing even a very obvious bright star, unless you zoom. When trying to focus on a panel of lead light text, the lights on the subject seem to flicker (in reality they are static), but the picture was fine. The s21s and 22s took pictures in pitch dark with night mode, here the pitch dark stays pitch dark. I have used Samsung phones for years (s4, note 4, s7 edge and s21 uklta) and have been a fan. This time I am royally disappointed. Please help

Thank you @SureshRaheja 👍
I now see what your meaning.
I'm no expert with the phone's camera myself but there maybe some further settings within the phone that may help.

Hi, sorry, seems like it did not work yesterday, so I sent a couple today. I tested more and daytime pictures come out fantastic, it's just the night ones. I tried Pro mode night shot and that was too bad.

Thanks, I sure will try what you suggested and let you know. My issue with the night shots is that the focus seems off even in 1x. My old s21 ultra had a better focus. My gut feeling is that maybe it's a software issue, but my fear is it could be a hardware issue and I have 10 days to return the phone

It's unfortunate, but you will not get a straight answer from people in Samsu g or in these groups. I have similar issues with the S23 Ultra. Night Shot does something in processing that screws the photos up. It didn't used to do this before the S23 Ultra. I have been able to take nice point and shoot shot of the night sky with every Ultra going back to the Note using Night Shot with no issue until the S23. Now Samsung has done something to their software to ruin it. I know this because I get a glimpse of the photo before it is processed and the original phot looks great. After processing, the lights are blown out and stars get streaky. Samsung has screwed this up bad and I can't get anyone to address it other than saying to use a tripod. Screw that. Point and click needs to be fixed on Samsung phones to go back to the way it was. At least gi e us a choice to remind e the overprocessing done by Samsung's crappy Night Shot software. Total garbage. And yes. I have a bunch of photos that prove this taken on different S23 Ultras to rule out the hardware.
