S23 Ultra and the insane battery life in Chess!

OK so I tend to play Chess now and then, but I noticed something very strange whilst playing on the S23 Ultra, the battery drain consumed extra slowly. I wasn't sure at first, so I decided to do a marathon run just to check if it were true. In the end, the result completely blew me away. Please don't judge me 😳

That's right, nearly 20 hours SoT! No tweaks, just dark mode, no lite performance options, 120hz adaptive, WQHD+, BT, NFC, 5G, WiFi all enabled. I think binging YouTube only nets me at most 11h SoT. Anyway I'd like to know if anyone else has noticed some extreme case apps which break the norms for battery life.

As a side note, I remember doing this some time on my S22 Ultra, but only got around 7 hours SoT.

Turn ON show refresh rate under developer settings while playing the game and let us know what refresh rate the game is at.

Wow, that sot is crazy, the s23 ultra & the chess app must be very optimised & has little no excessive battery drain.
Take a screenshot of the battery consumption from the chess app, please.

According to SamMobile it's down to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 (2nd gen) that's in the S23

Samsung have put the Snapdragon in ALL Territories this year, no-one's been made to have an Exynos as in previous years and territories and the Snapdragon 8 gives an amazing battery life

Judging by the statistics, I'd say the average consumption was 5%/hour.

I just quoted something I read on SamMobile that's all, take it up with them
GSM says there's a snapdragon 8 2nd gen in every S23 Ultra so why are you going on about Gen 1?

Why ask for advice if you're just going to dismiss someone trying to help you, someone who did their homework before replying to you

I never asked for advice, I gave a response to a statement I believe to be false (based on my own experiences with both chipsets). SD 8 Gen1 has pretty poor battery life and SD 888 was not much better before. The equivalent Exynos on both those generations were pretty much on par (I found the S21 Ultra to have excellent battery life).
