I'm upgrading my phone next year, and currently have my eye on the S23+ but knowing the S24 series will be coming out, im unsure if I should then go with the S24+. I live in the UK, so going on rumors the S24 will come with exynos 2400, has made me slighly skeptical. I will have it for 5+ years, so i would need the best preformence to last me a long time. Exynos have shown some slowdown compared to Snapdragon years later( going on other peoples experiences ive read) as well as overheating issues.

Could the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 be better then the new Exynos 2400 Chip, preformence and longitivity wise? Or could the Exynos 2400 offer an even better preformence and longitivity?

Very early to make an educated guess. Personally, I would go for latest in any given year

And of course by then the 24 will be quite a lot more ,££ than a 23 ! Which is an awesome phone and will be for some considerable time yet !

Hi @sa50h

I would advise to wait and make your decision once the s²⁴ series is released as the specs we've heard about are just rumours in regards to which soc Samsung eventually decide to use.

To be honest I haven't had any issues with Exynos soc in regards to lag or overheating. The Exynos soc performs very well in my Samsung Galaxy s²² Ultra  👍

I appreciate people have their opinions on the Exynos Vs Qualcomm Snapdragon soc debate.

I even imported a Samsung Note²⁰ into the UK from Samsung Hong-Kong and used also bought one from Samsung UK to see for myself if there was a massive difference.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon soc was better optimised which have around an hour better battery experience which in itself is a subjective topic as we all set up our phone's differently.

It did feel a tad better optimised.

That said Exynos has come on leaps and bounds since.

I'll be interested to hear how you eventually decide to proceed.

Daily Driver > Samsung Galaxy s²⁵ Ultra 512Gb ~ Titanium Black.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "

thank for this, very helpful! i agree, i think because these arguments exisit between the two processors, is the reason i now need to get other peoples opinions when choosing a new phone now. Ive not really had many issues with my A50 which has exynos ( only recently its starting to lag and show its age, which what happens with every phone over time) but the fact that there is this whole debate, proves something is wrong, right? it would be resolved is samsung would just put the same proccessor in globally because there was no arguments regarding the s23 series. just hoping this new exynos well developed :smiling-face:

The gen 2 will be relevant for years
It's a mobile cpu that outperforms what used to be high end on pcs a few years ago but on mobile optimised software

You'll be fine if you get the s23 dw

I would say if you need a phone now get an s23 it's an amazing piece of kit and it has the snap dragon in. If you don't need a phone now wait for the s24 and hope it's not an exynos. One thing for sure is the exynos if present will need to be as good as the snap dragon this time round otherwise there would be uproar. The snap dragon in the s23 has proven that the flagship samsungs work best with snap dragon as I have never had a samsung with great battery life until now
