About a year ago I got a new phone and used smart switch to transfer settings etc from my old Samsung smart phone. Since then, whenever I delete photos that were part of the transfer they keep coming back every few weeks. I do not have any back up settings (eg one drive) set up, except Google Photos, but at these were originally WhatsApp photos they were never backed up to Google Photos. In addition, I have no back up settings with WhatsApp, so they are not backing up from there either. I also have no SD card. I'm absolutely baffled as to how to get rid of these photos without putting my phone back to factory settings

Hi Debra, try the fix I suggest further up in my post. It's 3 months on and the photos have stayed deleted now

Hi, I'm also having this problem, but I can't find the file path at all. I've tried searching all the various words in my settings and getting nowhere. Apparently the photos are hidden in a pathway that starts: /internal storage/android/media.... blah blah blah... but there is no android or media folder under the only internal storage folder I can find. Urgh

Did anyone ever find a solution to this? I've tried everything, in including deleting from the internal folder.

Hey, have you gone into my files first? The internal storage section should be there and within there you should see the Android folder to follow the route

Deleting from the internal folder was what fixed it for me, and it's remained fixed. Sorry I don't have any other ideas

I have had the same problem for over 6 months after switching my phone from xiaomi to Samsung but sadly I don't have any solution to get rid of the photos. What I did is select all the reappear photos and set the time to somewhere like 2019 so they don't occupy the gallery surface

Hello. Just to make sure, am I supposed to delete the folder that was in the older phone, or the one that was created when I got the new phone?
So like, if the pictures are downloaded in X folder, am I just supposed to delete that whole folder, or what am I supposed to do?
