S23 Galaxy Ultra: please fix the Bluetooth bug

This Bluetooth pairing issue drives me crazy. May I have a solution: Just reboot in safe mode and pair your Bluetooth device and then go back to normal mode.

I already had such issue on my S22 one year ago and after 1 or 2 months a Samsung phone update fixed it. Really really bad support from a brand like Samsung.

I have this issue on my brand new Galaxy S23 Ultra. I even replaced the device already one time. Whenever I try to pair Bluetooth devices, the pairing message on the phone does not come up. It seems that just the message it somehow blocked. My Bluetooth devices wait for the confirmation on the phone (smartwatch, my car) , but I can’t do so. And headsets etc. which usually do not need any confirmation, just do not connect.

VERY STRANGE: in some rare cases, suddenly the pairing message pops-up. Sometimes after 20 trials to pair even more, most times never. Samsung: here is something really broken. I have the impression something in Samsung Apps or the SmartSwitch transfer from my Galaxy Note was faulty programmed by Samsung.

This issue makes me crazy and I already spend hours for trial and error, searching the web and even contact the really bad Samsung service (they do not have a technical clue and cannot or are not willing to open a technical ticket).

Nothing worked:
1) Restart Phone
2) Toggle Bluetooth
3) Unpair all devices, pair again (if possible)
4) Factory Reset Network Settings
5) Wipe Cache Partition (Factory Menu)
6) Repair Apps (Factory Menu)
7) Even tried third party apps to pair Bluetooth devices

But the safe mode… did it 😊

One remarkable thing: In the web many posts and even Samsung recommend to delete the app data of the Bluetooth app. But on my S23 Ultra with latest Android 13 (22.Feb2023) this is not accessible: “delete data” is greyed out. May this would be the real solution. But not accessible on S23.

I am trying this, as I have to turn off my Bluetooth and turn it back on to get any sound, whether my phone speaker, or my Bluetooth hearing-aid.  I have not tried this new S23 with the car yet.  Here is hoping.  Thank you for showing another 'setting'.

Not able to pair my JBL Reflect Contour headset. Worked perfectly on my S10. Five calls with Samsung service desk and visit to Samsung Repair Center. Also called JBL. Tried everything recommended here. Headset is simply not recognized as a bluetooth device on S23. No resolution. Any other ideas??

I understand this is an old thread but people still having problems and little solutions. I have an s21 and better half an s23. Her 23 would not connect to speakers. (Bose slII and miniboom. It would ask for my "confirmation". Wierdly enough a message pops up on my phone, I accept and music from her phone plays through mine to the speaker? But I found this works for her s23.. In settings-apps-sort-show system apps-ok- bluetooth-scroll to bottom,Install unknown apps-allow. Like someone else said, you can't clear the cache or data,,it's greyed out! So anyway, hope this helps someone.

I am trying this, though I received a warning.  I have bluetooth hearingaids. I have been trying many things, and yet there is no sound UNLESS I disable Bluetooth and enable it. Last evening, I turned off Bluetooth on my S23 so my wife could listen to an Instagram post.  I re-activated Bluetooth, but could not have sound redirected to my hearingaids, so I rebooted the s23 and it worked.  This issue is problematic when trying to answer a phone call and I have to deactivate and reactivate Bluetooth for sound.

I have no issues connecting but it just drops out after a while and YouTube music app will only play one song at a time

Not having a pairing issue exactly but a constant connection. I have a work phone that is an S22 that maintains a connection with Bluetooth speaker but my personal S23 Ultra keeps losing the signal to where I have to press play again on the speaker or on the app. Same operating environment and same speaker. Just started 2 weeks ago after Android 14 update. If it continues I'll try your solution if it isn't the app itself.

Hey everyone, i have the same problem and the phone is less than 6 months old!!  It connects for car phone but not audio, or on my home theatre.  It worked in safe mode but the music apps were not there so thats useless plus I REFUSE TO GO INTO SAFE MODE BS ON A 1K PHONE.  I WILL BE GOING TO T-MOBILE TOMORROW!! i imagine some of you that are having or had issues whether sporadically or ongoing i feel you.  Next step is a class action lawsuit or a refund.  the squeaky wheel gets the grease!   Good luck.
