S23 Car Bluetooth auto connect not working

Hi just bought S23 phone and all set up,  only problem is can set up hands free via blue tooth in my 2008 Freelander HSE and all works fine when connected,  but the system will not auto connect like my last phone which was not a Samsung,  did all the reset things but still no joy, strange thing is if I have connected manually to car and then left car for say 30 min or so it auto connects sometimes,  but say next day no chance, I have to manually connect and that can take 2 or 3 attempts before it sees phone ???? any help out there appreciated .

Try adding the car as a trusted device in settings, lock screen, secure lock.

Hi thanks for help Pugs1957,  went into lock screen, secure lock settings,  but nothing about adding the car ? just lock screen setting basically ???

Hi just go into secure lock, not secure lock settings. I would suggest pairing in the car first.

hi thanks for help ..tried this and added as trusted device,  but still dont auto connect, It has done randomly only after being connected few mins before and then power of in car and back on, its like it forgets car after a small amount of time. Can connect manually with car controls every time, not looking for each other at power up in car ??? Ive noticed Samsung bluetooth symbol only shows when connected not like other phones that show symbol when BT on all the time

Hi any more help anyone ???? as ive even done a factory reset as advised now and still same... all sets up fine ... last a few connections in same hr or so then just stops ...think the phone could be faulty.... only thing I have notice unlike most phones when BT is switched on there is no symbol on screen to show BT on until its connected to something ???

Having the same prob with 3 of my 2015 ford's, and this has only happened since a software update just before Christmas...was perfect prior to update

Samsung did another software update since my last post on 1st Jan and all back to working normal again now.

The phone says I got update 1/14 but I still have the same issue.
