Random Notification Single Beep but NO notification

Although I have a Samsung Galaxy 23 running Android 14 my extensive research on the web has highlighted the fact that this seems to be an ANDROID or SAMSUNG problem which affects many different phones and which does not yet seem to be resolved. It is driving me INSANE!!!!!

Also, before anyone gives me any alleged solution previously given please read the following.

The issue is that at random times throughout the day and night my phone emits one single very loud monotone beep which is approximately 1-2 seconds in duration. 

When I look in the notification area , there is no new notification. 

There are no unread existing notifications in the notification area. 

Notification reminder is not enabled on my phone. 

Emergency Wireless Alerts are not enabled on my phone. 

The ghost notification beep is emitted in the countryside when out walking as well as in the streets and at home so it cannot be the NFC.

The tone (Sound) does not appear to exist on my phone either in the system notification sounds folder or in my own sounds folder.

I have scrolled through EVERY SINGLE app on my phone and deleted the app cache

Only in the last hour I have immediately deleted any notifications that arrived on my phone to ensure the notification area on my phone was empty for when this annoying beep occurred again, as it did, and I immediately checked the notification area and there was nothing there, nor was there anything in the Notification History.

I have switched my phone off and switched it back on again.

I have been on the Zedge website, searched for SINGLE MONOTONE BEEP and listened to as many so called BEEP sounds as I can to try and identify the sound that is being emitted from my phone in the hope that it might help me identify which app on my phone, if any, is emitting the sound.  This has been unsuccessful because Zedge search does not seem to know what is meant by SINGLE nor MONOTONE nor BEEP.

I am close to smashing this very expensive but annoying piece of S*&!t into a million pieces with a heavy hammer and going over to the dark side that is Apple unless I can sort this issue.

I never know when the beep is going to sound so , even if I knew how, I could not record the sound in order to identify the name or source of the sound or post it to any website to try and identify it that way.

Having read the above, can anyone suggest anything that I have not as yet tried above?  I think the answer may lie in identifying the the annoying beep which may lead me to the offending app so can anyone suggest how I might find this unidentified sound on my phone because the folder in which it resides and is hidden may identify the offending app.

Thank you! I took my credit card out of the phone pocket and the sound stopped. What is the NFC and how do I disable it?

I also have been having this issue lately. It's a single beep noise, but it's not monotone. Its 2 tones. One tone happens, then a lower tone happens immediately after. It feels ridiculous to type it out, but it's like "Doo-Doot" if you say that quickly. I noticed it happening after I opened Tiktok (I RARELY go on Tiktok). The first time it happened, the doo-doot noise was going off LITERALLY every 5 seconds or so and I felt like I was going mad! I shut down all apps, deleted all notifications, then finally turned my phone off and back on. 

That seemed to fix the issue for a while, but now my phone will just randomly do it (a doo-doot here and there... Maybe a few times a day, at random intervals).

I also don't know what to do. Opening tiktok seems to exacerbate the issue. But otherwise? Idk?

I feel your pain but see the replies above from me and Sombody3 Voyager but my reply was "I apologise but I sorted this soon after seeing the post by Sombody3 Voyager and thought I had responded so sorry to everyone for that.

Anyway a big thank you as I did as suggested and downloaded Good Lock from the Samsung Store and used the Nice Catch plug in which logged everyone of the invisible notifications giving the time and date of every incident including the name of the responsible app. I won't bore you with the identity of the app because it's a specialised app that only diabetics use but download the Good Lock app and the Nice Catch plug in and it will solve your problem as well.

So again, a massive thank you to Sombody3 Voyager for the suggestion. You saved my sanity 😂". Hope it helps.

Thank you so much!!! My phone has been randomly beeping so I looked on here to find a solution. I updated my phone, went through notifications but nothing worked. As soon as I removed my bank card from the back of my phone the beeping stopped. Thank you so so so so so much xxxx

I just removed my card as well, guess what it worked instantly, you are truly awesome, i no longer have any sound problems at last.

I have the same problem. It's driving me insane. Did you find out what's causing it?

Not sure if you have solved the issue but I just wanted to share what mine was, and yes, very annoying to say the least. Opened apps, scrolled through until I noticed one with message icon (mine was Avast Anti-virus), opened app, went to message showing "data breach" from back in 2019. Suggested password change and since mine was already changed after that date, clicked "Resolved", beep sound is now gone. Hope that helps.

I have been getting the ghost notification since december 2024 and went through the same frustration. I have managed to record it right now. In my humble expertese (I'm a Conservatory graduate) I'm thinking it's either a data stealing bug from a smart hacker or Samsung is not telling us  something.

After doing some experiments I descovered it only blips only when NFC is on. So nothing to worry about
