Just wondering if anyone else has noticed any negative issues since the One UI 6 update?

Main changes I have noticed as follows, I'll update as and when I come across any more

Battery
Battery drains much quicker
Fast charge has stopped working on non Samsung chargers

Browsing
Getting a lot of errors loading webpages or blank pages and some dead links in pages. My default was Chrome so I changed it to Samsung Internet but no improvement

Networking
My signal strength seems lower and the phone has more issues connecting to certain Bluetooth devices e.g sumup card reader etc ad-hoc i.e occasionally it's ok

I've noticed maintaining network connections as an issue a while ago even on the S22u but lower network strength is recent as the signal was always stronger on the S23u compared to others

I've given up on the NFC with my sumup app i.e scanning the card on the phone instead of the card reader. This was a really useful feature and worked flawlessly for a while but since a few updates is very rarely successful and returns errors reading card which gets embarrassing when stood with a client also with the S23u you need to reconnect the card reader quite frequently as the phone stops finding the reader. This never happened with the A54 5g I was running side by side with the S23u with the same software set up and reinforces suspicions around the S23u network connection consistency

Notifications
I did have a period of notifications just disappearing when you click to read them but been ok for a while

Apps
I have noticed apps sometimes close unexpectedly when changing focus to another app but not all apps e.g happens a lot when in settings but other apps seem to be ok

I've noticed a lot more apps continue running in background after they have been closed. It used to be one or two and since the update it seems to average 5 or 6

Camera
When editing photos (Cropping) there is an irritating delay between adjustments which if you don't wait between adjustments causes you to move the image and have to start over, really irritating 

There are probably other little niddles I haven't noticed yet or forgot as I'm often out and about when I notice.

I've already done the cache wipe, reset networks etc

I recently got an A54 5g to try out for a work phone which seems to out perform my S23u on the basic stuff such as maintaining network and connecting to devices etc, which suggests to me that the extra functions and components in high end phones may cause additional challenges

I personally think the update process itself causes issues. I say this because whenever I get a new phone or do a factory reset regardless as to the software version the phones usually run like a dream and the glitches only tend to start as the OS or certain apps update. I wonder if the bug testers are testing updates on fresh installs only so may be missing some updating errors/glitches

I certainly don't intend doing a factory reset and fresh app installs after every OS update, that would be a nightmare as it's a major undertaking

Hi with your way of doing things what about emails message etc if you dont back upx photos etc. 

Do like your idea of fresh installs just got to remember all your passwords again lol

Hi.

Emails are not affected as they are cloud based anyway (Hotmail, Gmail, yahoo etc)

Photos, messages , phonebook etc backed up in Google ONE so once I sign into my Gmail account everything is back.

Passwords etc same all backed up in either edge or chrome so doesn't effect me.

Things not backed up ( or restored after factory reset) are.
Settings and apps.

I reinstall apps as and when I need them.

Oh right, I was always worried if I don't back up I lose it all, sorry to bother you with the Google one is that the photo saving thing I get 100gb yr but my photos are 80g now.ooooo

I might see if I can do a reset haven't done one ui 6 as read so many problems x.

I mean you do need to back up your photos, contacts, messages and passwords depending what you are using to auto fill them with .
I Mostly use Google as I sometimes use Google pixel phones so everything is synced for me.

I have 100gb Google one subscription which is enough for me for now and I can back up photos in original quality.

It also has option to delete your photos from Samsung gallery once photos are backed up to Google One.

Only caveat is then you need to use Google photos to access your old photos.

It's just the way all my stuff I set up that even if My phone is corrupted lost or stolen I can access all.my stuff easily the minute I sign in my Google account or Microsoft account.

Good stuff I've Google one I didn't think for a second that I don't need to worry about photos etc as they upload to Google photos every day.

Like to fresh installs though, like you say can't drag old rubbish over x

On 1st I January my phone downloaded and installed the update but while restarting got stuck. Tried to soft reset, didn't work. Samsung told me they will delete all my data before they try to check what's wrong with the phone and they well insist on changing the motherboard to make sure the issue won't come up again. Therefore they said its a hardware issue not software. My phone is out of warranty, so not worth it.
High Street mobile phone shop tried but couldn't save data.

Now my phone working but wiped out, data lost.

Update messed-up the phone.

Yes, I updated on Jan 14 24, and since then my connections are not stable. My streaming apps are constantly interrupted, spotify, I heart radio, audible. I can only listen for a few songs or a few minutes and it stops on it's own. A couple times a day various apps do not load, this is on both wifi and network. I found my battery drains quicker, typically by the end of the work day I have  30-40% battery, but now I have to charge my phone as soon as I get home. I have trouble shooted by reinstalling apps, clearing cache, changing settings, soft reset and it does not fix the issue. I think there is a coralation with my for screen being locked. As soon as I unlock my phone music will begin playing again, otherwise while locked it eventually stops and spins. In reality I should not have to change my setting to get my phone to work after an update. I will be calling tech support today. I have a flip 5. 

 

2-17: I submitted an error report to samsung through the members app. It has been over 2 weeks and they have not provided help "we got your ticket someone will get in touch". When I called a couple weeks ago they told my to factory reset my phone and if the issue persist to send my phone in! Now what am I supposed to do without  a phone!!? I have to clear it and send it in and who knows when they will send it back? Samsung can remotely connect to your phone, why wouldn't this be the first option? They are making it as difficult as possible to make a warranty claim.

I updated on Jan 16 and nothing but problems since. All my Google apps are not working properly, android auto keeps dropping connection and can't take screenshots. Worst of all I can't make calls, once I press the call button nothing happens, I have cleared the cache, this is only a temporary fix, everything stops working after about 30 mins. How can an update be approved and the one basic thing a phone needs to do, make calls, and it can't do that.

I think it varies, some don't have any issues and some report problems. I find it a bit glitchy mainly browser and connection issues. Some issues seem to have improved via updates
