No more high quality 200mp photos with 50+ MB image size in S23 Ultra?

When I bought S23 Ultra in Feb 2023, it used to take really good 200 mega pixel photos with image size starting from 50MB to 110MB .

But after the recent upgrade to latest Android version, I noticed that even 200 mega pixel photos size has been reduced to under 20 MB.

and no more high quality photos..

Is it because to project S24 Ultra camera by reducing the quality of S23 Ultra?

The only other thing I can think of is in the camera settings and going to advanced picture options and making sure high efficiency mode is off. (You could try using Pro raw if that isn't the problem as pro raw saves photos in a higher quality by default.

High Efficiency mode is already off and PRO mode won't allow us to take 200 mega pixel photos.. only 50 or 12 mega pixel photos are allowed to be taken on PRO mode. WHAT A PRO SAMSUNG IS !! ******** pro mode..SmartSelect_20231211_184625_Camera_1000006256_1702320385.jpg

As a last resort you could take you photos in 200mp mode and then use: https://apps.samsung.com/appquery/appDetail.as?appId=com.samsung.android.imageenhancer
To upgrade the resolution of your picture. (This takes forever though which is why I only suggested it now). Super sorry that I couldn't find out a better fix. 😔

Only one more thing that might work (super sorry in advance for not being able to solve this for you) you could try taking an 8k video and using the button that allows you to take a photo whilst taking a video, this makes the phone take the photo in 8k. But this is more faffy and not entirely sure if it will actually give you what your trying to do. Sorry. 😔

It does take good pictures in 200mp mode.. but the size is 10 times lower than before and there is a reduction in quality. Please check the image size and quality of the 200mp photos that you have taken between Feb 2023 and October 2023.. and compare it with the photos taken after the upgrade...

If you can still take 50+ MB photos. Pls share one sample photo.

It's purely dependent on the subject you are photographing.
I've not noticed file sizes exceeding 50Mp very often. In fact I couldn't find any with a quick search in my gallery.
Included a few older ones and one I just captured.
Only time I get images over 50MP is when I use RAW

First of all.. these are really good pictures... And yes that's my question.. why now a days it is not exceeding 50MB and not giving same quality as before the upgrade.

See this is 45 MB taken few months ago.. it has great details even after zooming in.. I am not getting this kind of quality now a days. All are under 20 or 25 MB. Yes it depends on the colour and lighting as well.. 20230622_195557_1000006274_1702333407.jpg

I also have this problem after the latest update. My 12 mp camera exceeds the quality of both the 50 and the 200mp.

My 200 mp files is around 18,5 mb small.this wasn't the problem before the **** update 😫

I really don't see the 200mp functioning on my S23 Ultra as well, as if I'm taking 50mp photo
