First thing is to check your settings in connections in the settings menu
Next to check the SIM card is in place correctly
Failing this, you will have to contact your network provider and see if there's an issue with the network or with your sim

I have its been sent back to Vodafone and they couldn't find fault

Is it only not working where you live but works elsewhere? Try sim card from another provider
