Messenger video calls oversaturrated / blurry face

Hey

Did anyone else notice how poor the video quality is when making video calls on messenger/WhatsApp? I am shocked how poor and over-saturated the picture is. Also, my phone seems to be applying the face smoothing effect at random while having the video call. I have made sure I have this effect disabled but my Samsung still does it. 

Very frustrating to have to deal with such issues in the flagship model. 

I own S23 Ultra.

Video calls are compressed and pushed over the third part networks when using WhatsApp etc.... That usually has nothing to do with the phone

I suggest you raise the issue with WhatsApp etc... And your network provider as these are all that impact the quality

Weird because I have not had these issues on my previous phone.

I could understand that bad network could cause the video call quality to deteriorate but why would the front camera smooth the skin during the call when you have this option disabled.

I am facing similar problem too . Video call on whatapp , google meet and zoom meeting is horrible  . Face looks too blurry,  oversoftened and grainy . While on telegram instagram snapchap video calls are normal . Please fix this issue . This should not be happening to your flagship phone . I own s23 ultra @-Robot-

It probably just means those apps need to update themselves to make it work, particularly if there are no problems with others. If it was a universal problem with the phone it would be the same with all apps.

In other words, sounds like a Whatsapp or Google problem, not a Samsung problem. For the record, I've used Google Meet several times with my S23 Ultra and the picture quality has been just fine. 🤔

This is the same issue that brought me here. I mostly use messenger to be in constant contact with my friends and family overseas and this messenger video call issue on this S23 ultra is completely horrible. We need help to fix this problem ASAP

Same here! Just brought my s23 plus 2 days ago and the video call face camera is very blurry and weird, my lips is blue and my face are blurry, I noticed it like this when I'm in the room with nightstand on, same thing even with facebook, Viber,

Same with me. First i thought it was the video call effects messing around. But even after turning it off from the system the issue still persist

 having the same issues with my Samsung s23 Ultra the front camera is just not really this impressive. It is a very annoying issue.
