Lock Screen Notification Brightness Really Dim

Hi,

Since the recent update I've noticed that when the phone is not open (IE: the phone is on but the screen is black) when I get a notification / message - the little popup that pings at the top of the screen appears but it's so dark I can barely read it unless i bring it very close. Before the update, it was the same brightness as the unlocked phone but now its so dark.

When I push the side key, the phone goes onto the normal lock screen at normal brightness and everything is fine.

I've restarted the phone and that hasn't change anything. I've tried all the settings I can find but it's not doing anything to brighten the initial notification screen (when the screen is black). When I go into 'Notification pop-up style' when in the edge lighting style setting the example notification pop up is at normal brightness but that's not how bright it is when the phone screen is off.

Any ideas?

My screen is automatically deemed even though I have automatic brightness off . Really annoying

Having same issue too, I dont have AOD on and I dont want it on. I also suspect its a bug and hope they fix it soon with next update

Manually increase the 'always on display brightness' then you can rather turn off or on 'always on display'. Thank you

Today is March 30 2024... n I'm having the same issue.  I can't see my notifications. I have tried every idea.. an update just happened this morning.. if this is part of the update the developers need to fix ASAP!!! I LIKE TO SEE MY NOTIFICATIONS N FINGER PRINT BEFORE I OPEN MY PHONE.  This is ridiculous change.  Have to unlock my phone every time I get a notification.  As much as I paid for my phone this is one change that was not needed!
