Lock Screen Notification Brightness Really Dim

Hi,

Since the recent update I've noticed that when the phone is not open (IE: the phone is on but the screen is black) when I get a notification / message - the little popup that pings at the top of the screen appears but it's so dark I can barely read it unless i bring it very close. Before the update, it was the same brightness as the unlocked phone but now its so dark.

When I push the side key, the phone goes onto the normal lock screen at normal brightness and everything is fine.

I've restarted the phone and that hasn't change anything. I've tried all the settings I can find but it's not doing anything to brighten the initial notification screen (when the screen is black). When I go into 'Notification pop-up style' when in the edge lighting style setting the example notification pop up is at normal brightness but that's not how bright it is when the phone screen is off.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

The only thing I could think of is to go on the setting as you described in your post. What I've UI version have you got? If its 6.0 It could be a bug that has to be fixed

Yea mine does this too, on one ui 5 it would go to max AOD brightness when you get a notification then it would dim back down. Now on one ui 6 the notification will come up at the brightness of the room so for example if its dark it will come up on min brightness and if the room is bright it will come up on max brightness. The work around is set AOD to max brightness and not have it on adaptive. This is the AOD brightness NOT the display brightness do not set your screen to full brightness as it will ruin your phone

The same happens to me on my galaxy s23+ after the UI 6.0 update. Probably a bug.

Try these two options and see if they work for you! I've been using extra brightness (Display settings) for awhile now and honestly don't see ANY extra battery drain. Also under (Wallpaper and style settings), make sure "Dim wallpaper when dark mode is on" is disabled. Between these two settings, it has worked for me. Hope this helps!IMG_20231123_064105_235.jpgIMG_20231123_064127_333.jpg

Hi,

Go to settings, Lock screen > Always on display. Click tap to show.

Switched off the auto brightness and adjust manually the brightness.
