Is there a way to Remotely Zoom In and Out while recording a video on my Samsung Ultra23?

I shoot my daughter's competition cheer team.  I have my phone on a tripod and capture the full team for reviewing the footage later.

I have to Zoom In and Out several times during the routine to attempt to keep the full team in the frame. THis means pinching in and out.

I was hoping someone knows a way that I can use a remote to do this without touching the screen.   Maybe a Bluetooth remote, maybe a wearable watch, maybe new SPen feature?

I'll go first.  You can use the S Pen and depress the side button on the S Pen while making gestures.

It's a bit tedious to find -  Settings / Advanced features / S Pen / Air actions ... and scroll down to Camera.

I tried it using the Video camera and while I could change the zoom feature, I couldn't get it to perform as you probably wanted it do  .... though this is on the right track me thinks.

I hope this helped a little.

Thanks Dave.  Awesome advise as I learned some things.  Unfortunately, this doesn't help with the ZOOM IN and OUT FEATURE.

I have found several bluetooth hand held remotes that will snap pictures and even control a power point from your phone, but none control the ZOOM IN or OUT feature.  weird.

Set it up as described here and don't forget to hold the power button during the gesture. It works for me without a problem.

I'm a little late but having same issue along with another. If I'm filming and want say a slow 8 second zoom in. Is there a setting that will do the zoom for me? So I don't have to pinch the screen or press one of the buttons. Then you could have different zoom speeds and distances

I know just what you mean.

I used to be able to do it on my S10 with wired headphones using the volume control.

I can't believe no body has got an answer for this.

I chatted to samsung and they said one of their watches does it but I'm not spending nearly £500 on it

It does prove it is possible surly someone out there has an answer.

As @davehorne advised, you can use the S Pen for zooming in and out. Head to settings > Advanced Features > S Pen > Air Actions > Camera. You can then configure your air actions for this app. Clockwise and anti-clockwise air actions are the default for zooming in and out.

@Members_CEZq8VA It is still possible to zoom in and out by using the Volume keys. You can enable this through Camera > Settings Gear icon > Shooting Methods > Press Volume Keys to > Zoom in or out.

I think we all know this.
What we are looking for is a way to remotely adjust the zoom without touching the camera.
This is especially important when using maximum zoom in my case for astronomy pictures.
The S pen gesture method is no use for fine adjustments.
I'm sure it is not beyond Samsung to create a way of doing this.
I believe one of the Galaxy watches does it but not at almost £500 for me.
