I bought my cell phone in UK, to vodafone. I noticed that the IMEI and the IMEI(esim) are the same. Is this normal? Or is this some security concern?

To use a mobile network, a phone needs an IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) number. To use an eSIM, a phone also needs an EID (Embedded Identity Document) number. When you set up a new SIM, you may need to give your carrier your phone's IMEI 1, IMEI 2, or EID numbers.
I think normally your network provider would ask for IMEI (slot 2) but not sure on this. If you are concerned ring Vodafone and ask.

Do check with the Vodafone Customer Services Team via 191 , Live Chat or the Vodafone Social Media Teams via Facebook or X @vreumesmo

Each sim slot has it's own unique imei number so when you opted to add an esim this would have taken up the 2nd sim slot in the phone.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.

Has your phone ever had a physical SIM installed?

I switched from a physical EE SIM to an EE eSIM and I have two different IMEI numbers.

When I ordered or installed the EE eSIM, I was not asked to provide my IMEI number so maybe check with Vodafone and see what they suggest.

So if I have two IMEI numbers and a eid number that could possibly mean I have an esim
