I have the S23 Ultra and still have no update for android 14

Hello, I'm struggling to understand why I haven't gotten an update for Android 14. I bought the phone in July 2023 and I believe my phone is unlocked.

 

I would really appreciate directions to getting help for this issue.

Galaxy S23 ultra

Hey there

I'm sensing you are in the US? (this is the UK Forum).

Did you buy your device from Samsung, from your carrier or from a 3rd party retailer?
I am not employed by Samsung nor do I receive any remuneration as a Samsung Members Star.

My device is an S25 Ultra.

I bought the phone in Gibraltar (UK), I bought the phone from a third party retailer I think? The store isn't called Samsung so I believe its third party.

Ok so although Gibraltar is part of the UK, I believe (happily corrected if wrong) that this comes under Samsung Spain / Europe.

If you've taken your device to the US then I believe your device won't pick up the EU updates.

@Glenntech you excel in this area, can you please confirm if this is correct?

I have never taken my phone to the US, its been in Spain and England where I currently am.

My apologies. When you used the word "gotten" which is generally used in the US, I assumed (wrongly).

Not sure I excel, but have some experience
Gibraltar would be under the European side of the software.
But taking it to another region like the USA. You may not get any of the updates like this. Could well be for the UK as well.
I say might, as I imported a few phones over the years. My old Samsung phone still got updates as it was unlocked.
If your phone was purchased through a network provider, even though you can use other SIM cards. It's highly likely you won't get updates from that network provider
You can always use a computer and smartswitch to search for an update

I've never been to USA with this phone or any of my phones. I bought my phone in Gibraltar, taken it into Spain and Portugal.

1. When you did Setup from new - there are ALWAYS some network bloatware during initial setup - if you did not have it - your phone is UNBRANDED - my S23U is UNLOCKED BUT BRANDED to Vodafone.

2. In Samsung 0 there is no Android 14 - there is...... ONE UI 6.0 which is based on Android 14 - do you have oneui6.0?

Yeah my phone is unbranded, thank you for that clarification. I do not have one UI 6.0
