How to get Gallery to search all albums for people?

How do I get the gallery app to search a my albums for people? Currently it just searches my camera roll but not albums I've downloaded.

Hi, and welcome to the community

I just tap on the spy glass and it works. As long as the album is in your gallery it should appear in a search. Are your downloaded folders stored elsewhere on your phone?

Thanks for your help. The downloaded folders do show up in the gallery app. Do I have to make sure the downloaded folders are stored somewhere specific?

Thanks for your help, the downloaded folders were not there. However I have now moved them there and the new people still aren't showing up in the gallery app. Any thoughts?

Unsure. Mine don't necessarily have to be in Internal Storage either, they can be stored on OneDrive and still be found in a people search. (Sync to OneDrive may need to be enabled here though).

I noticed you said folders, though. Try adding a picture to an existing album and see if it shows up then in a people search.

Alternatively, try creating an album from within the gallery app itself, then adding individual pics.

Tried both of those things, nothing seems to work. My people search number doesn't change...seems to only search images I've taken with the phone in my camera roll. Really want it to search downloaded folders 😞

How about adding the pics to your camera roll?

I have the same problem but worse. Moved from an A12 to A55 using smart switch and only the 55 people I had saved already are the ones I see. It doesn't even show people when I take new pics
