How do I stop these system notifications?

Hi all

Please tell me how I can safely turn off notifications such as 'Choose input method' that comes up every time I have an on-screen keyboard (gboard in this case), or 'See what apps you used this week' that turned up this morning.

If I click on 'Notification settings' when they are displayed it's unclear to me what is actually sending these notifications. I don't want to turn off anything important!

And what are 'silent notifications' in Whatsapp and other apps?

Hi,

Have a look at the options mentioned the link below for 'Choose input method' issue.

For the app usage notification, check out the YouTube video -

Thanks, I've followed the instructions but it still won't go away.

If you click on that notification, what happens, does it open something?

Could you not do it from settings and switch off the notifications you don't want .

If I click on it, it asks if I want to switch to the Samsung keyboard

And if I go to notification settings I get this - and I don't seem to be able to turn off Android notifications at all. Same for the silly notification earlier about looking to see which apps I'm using

Thanks. Android System notifications cannot be turned off.

Can you try the following -

Switch to Samsung keyboard. Restart your phone and then switch back to Gboard (if thats your default keyboard).

Sadly that has no effect

2 more things to try out -

1. Uninstall Gboard. Samsung keyboard will become the default keyboard. Restart your phone. Reinstall Gboard and switch back to it.

2. Uninstall Gboard / deselect Gboard and use Samsung Keyboard as your default keyboard.  Restart your phone.

Download the Nice Catch app from the Google Store.  Then once installed scroll down to the Screen Wakeup History and turn it on, chances are you'll see Android System notifications, and it probably appears a lot.  The sound on my phone went off every time I picked up the phone.  I turned it on and the notifications stopped.
