Gallery widget doesn't work

Gallery widget has stopped working on home screen 

I had it working on the home screen for past 2 years and it suddenly stopped working and disappeared now when I press and hold home screen and attempt to add it says add but nothing happens 

Any ideas anyone ??

Hi and Welcome.

Please check for any app updates in both Samsung and Google store.

You can clear the app cache and restart your phone and try again

Long Press on the app > click the (i) button in the popup > storage > clear cache

Tried all that just still no good it's in the widget list but just doesn't add

I'm assuming you are using Samsung launcher. When you attempt to add the gallery widget what happens. You pick the size and...?

It says what size the widget will take and i press add and nothing happens.
When it first happened I had an error message whilst I was in usa and since then it disappeared and never came back

I've tried to do a screen record but cannot attach it , it says 2 x 2 and there is plenty of room on the home screen other widgets work just not gallery I've sent several messages to samsung help and they have said they looking into it but nothing back from them for mo ths now

I had this problem too but I just updated to One UI 7 (android 15) and it's working now. Hope it helps.

When was this update ? What version did you update to

I updated just 20 mins ago.  I'll attach a screenshot of the update info. (Using a s23 ultra.)
